The team’s responsiveness and commitment ensures continuous innovation.

The Design Perspective

Designing a magnetic component is a demanding and a highly specialized process. Each application requires a careful balance of multiple factors – electrical, magnetic, thermal, mechanical and reliability considerations – all while meeting strict space and safety standards.

At FRAZA, we approach design challenges proactively. Instead of fixing the issues after they arise, we focus on preventing them through innovation, deep expertise and patented design methods.

In high-power, high-frequency applications magnetic components often face three key issues: skin effect, proximity effect and fringing effect. FRAZA’s unique, patented design strategies effectively minimize these losses while maintain exceptional electrical and mechanical performance.

To reduce skin effect and improve current distribution FRAZA employs optimized flat conductors arranged in parallel using a special patented flat conductor interleaving technique. A cuboid multi-gapped core design further enhances efficiency by controlling magnetic fields and improving thermal balance. The compact and robust construction of FRAZA’s components ensures high reliability – even in the most demanding environments, including aerospace and space applications.

The result is a magnetic component with an exceptionally high Q-factor, capable of operating efficiently at very high frequencies and handling high ripple currents. This enables soft switching, reduced driver system losses and allows the magnetic component to manage a greater share of total system losses – improving performance across the board.

At FRAZA, continuous innovation drives everything we do. Our commitment to research and intellectual development has led to breakthrough technologies such as the Zero Current Detection (ZCD) Senor, developed by Franc Zajc for the DEEP PPU project. This sensor based on FRAZA’s IP achieves latency below 10 nanoseconds and enables zero-voltage switching – redefining speed and precision in power electronics. At FRAZA research never stands still. Our ongoing research has lately implemented FRAZA’s know-how and redefined HF power cable technology – introducing 55 g/m compact lightweight design with dual-pole terminals for 1 kW power transfer in MHz range that set new standards for efficiency and performance across both operating and resonant frequencies.

Through the years of focused development and innovation, FRAZA has become a trusted partner in delivering magnetic solutions that combine superior design, exceptional reliability and unmatched efficiency.

The Manufacturing Perspective

While design defines the potential of a magnetic component, manufacturing determines how fully that potential is realized. At FRAZA, we apply the same level of precision, innovation and quality control to production as we do to design – ensuring that every component performs exactly as intended even under toughest conditions.

Manufacturing magnetic components presents unique challenges: maintaining tight tolerances, ensuring material consistency, achieving reliable insulation and thermal management and meeting strict space and safety requirements. FRAZA’s advanced production methods and continuous process optimization address these challenges head-on.

We use custom made winding, assembly and testing technologies to ensure exceptional repeatability and performance. Each component undergoes rigorous quality checks, from material selection to final testing guaranteeing full compliance with both industrial and space-grade standards.

FRAZA’s multi-gap core technology and flat-conductor interleaving techniques are implemented with meticulous precision during manufacturing. This ensures minimal losses, excellent cooling and maximum magnetic efficiency. Our compact construction methods also enhance mechanical strength and reliability – crucial for high-frequency, high-power and high-vibration environments.
